My Current, Cruelty-Free, Go-To Eye Makeup

Like most of my makeup this summer, my eye makeup has been super simple. I usually just go with a dash of eyeshadow and mascara- I’m too lazy for eyeliner every day! I have been loving what I’ve been using lately, though, so I thought that I could share it.

I love the range of shades in this palette! They’re all super wearable, and this is a palette that I actually end up using most of the shades, not just one or two.

elf Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in Soiree

Lately, this is the only eyeshadow I’ve been wearing when I want a more laid-back look. I love the shade, and purple makes green eyes like mine pop!

I only use the primer side, but I absolutely love it. It’s my favourite primer that I’ve tried, and it makes my eyeshadow more pigmented.

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

This is a good mascara for volume, I just have to make sure to not overdo it! It makes my lashes a lot darker and more prominent.

What have you been loving on your eyes lately?

Visual Inspiration // Harry Potter // The Serpent

I always love making my visual inspiration posts, so I thought that it might be fun to make a series of them themed specifically around the Harry Potter houses! Of course I had to start with my house, Slytherin. I’ve been really loving the old-fashioned, creepy vibe that can represent Slytherin, so I thought that I could share some of it with you!

(A Very Pink) Current Cruelty Free Favourites

I assure you, the pink theme was unintentional, but I’m not complaining! It must go to show how much I love the colour if all of my current favourites match it. I haven’t been trying a whole lot of new things lately, but what I have I’ve loved, so I thought it might be fun to share them!

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Dreaming of Love?

I think that this shade is something between raspberry and rose- and when I’m wearing it, I can’t stop looking at it! I also really like the formula.

Cake Beauty Delectable Strawberry & Cream Body Lotion

This smells absolutely amazing- just like strawberry shortcake! I also love how light and moisturizing it is- it’s not as heavy duty as a body butter, but it definitely does the job.

5 Inspiring Instagrams

There’s many pros and cons to social media, such as Instagram. On one hand, it can give people unrealistic inspirations and make them feel bad about themselves, but on the other, it can be a great source of inspiration and creativity! Personally, I think that it’s best in moderation.

5 Inspiring Instagrams

As a blogger, it seems like Instagram is somewhat obligatory. I often find myself uninspired and out of ideas, though. Luckily, I follow a ton of inspiring accounts! I thought that I could share some of them with you, if any of you are in a rut as well when it comes to Instagram.

Idda’s photos are all simply stunning. The colour scheme is amazing, and they all look like something out of a dreamland or a Disney movie!

Recent Reads Part 6

I feel like I haven’t typed up one of these posts in ages! I’ve read a lot of books since the last one, so I decided to narrow it down to only my favourites. I’m thinking of making these a monthly series on my blog so that I can share even more books- what do you guys think?

Recent Reads Part 6

The Gentleman’s Guide To Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

Average Goodreads Rating: 4.34/5 stars
My Rating: 5/5 stars

Henry “Monty” Montague is supposed to be a gentleman- one day, he is to take over his father’s estate. Monty has never been the model of gentlemanly behavior, though, and is looking forward to his “Grand Tour” of Europe with his best friend Percy (and his little sister, Felicity), before he has to come home and be a gentleman for good.

However, things soon take a turn for the worse, and their grand tour becomes less of a holiday and more of a run for their lives.

I was quite impressed with the diversity of the characters in this book, especially considering that it’s historical fiction! I also really enjoyed the characterization- and all the characters grew so much throughout the course of the book- it was great to see Monty go from being a bit of a brat to a self-aware brat.

“Rather, it is simply the tale of how two people can be important to each other their whole lives, and then, one morning, quite without meaning to, one of them wakes to find that importance has been magnified into a sudden and intense desire to put his tongue in the other’s mouth. A long, slow slide, then a sudden impact.”

Overall, I really loved seeing the characters and their relationships with each other grow throughout the book! It also had a wonderfully diverse group of characters, especially for historical fiction, and I could tell that the author had really done her research. I would definitely would recommend it!

Cruely-Free Nail Picks

Having freshly painted nails always makes me feel a little more ready to take on the day! I’ve been trying to put a little more effort into my nail care lately, and I know that it can be difficult to find cruelty-free nail products, so I thought that I could share some of the ones that I’ve been using lately.

6 Classic Movies To Watch This Summer

As some of your may know, I absolutely adore classic movies. I grew up watching them, and I’ve loved them ever since. That being said, I thought that I’d share with you some of my favourite classic movies for summer. It was a challenge to narrow it down to six! If you’re new to watching classics, I hope that this can give you a bit of an idea of where to start.

Talk of The Town

1.Talk of the Town (1942)

The Story: Nora Shelly, a schoolteacher, finds herself in the middle of a manhunt when her former childhood friend and escaped convict Leopold Dilg, shows up to her house one night in the rain with a bad limp and the police chasing him. Due to a miscommunication, Michael Lightcap, a Harvard law professor and Nora’s new tenant for the summer, arrives a night early and the same night as Leopold. Convinced of Leopold’s innocence, Nora tries to keep him hidden and out of harms way.

Watch When: You’re in need of a laugh, and some witty 40’s humor!
